Terms of service

Using MasterSet means you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

You need to be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian has to agree to these terms on your behalf before you use MasterSet.

Accounts are created by signing in with Google. There is no password for us to store and none for you to forget. Keeping your Google account secure keeps your MasterSet account secure, so use the protections Google offers.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access to it, write to calebbertumen99@gmail.com.

You can stop using MasterSet at any time, and delete your account and everything in it from your account page.

MasterSet is free to use today. Every feature described on the site is available to everyone at no charge.

We may introduce paid features later. If we do, we will tell you before it happens. We may also change or remove features that are free today, including features you rely on, and we will give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can. Nothing here is a promise that a particular feature will exist forever.

Please do not:

• Scrape the site, or send automated or bulk requests to it. If you want card data, get it from TCGdex, where it comes from.
• Try to read, change or delete anybody else’s collection or account.
• Resell, sublicense or charge others for access to MasterSet.
• Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses without asking first, or work around any limit we set.
• Use MasterSet to break the law.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at calebbertumen99@gmail.com rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a chance to fix it.

MasterSet is not produced by, endorsed by, supported by, or affiliated with Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, The Pokémon Company International, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK Inc., or Wizards of the Coast. Pokémon and all related names, card images, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Card images and data are used for identification and reference purposes only.

Card names, card images, set names and set symbols belong to their respective rights holders. MasterSet shows them so you can identify which card a slot refers to, and for no other purpose. The card images and IP page explains where the data comes from and how to contact us about it.

The MasterSet name, wordmark, site design and code are ours. You may not copy them or present your own service as ours.

Card data may be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Some printings shown in MasterSet are inferred from set-wide rules because the source data is missing them, and those are marked where they appear. Treat everything here as a reference for your own collection, not as an authority.

MasterSet does not show card prices. If we ever add price information, it will be informational only. It will not be a valuation, an appraisal, an offer, or financial or investment advice, and you should not rely on it when buying or selling anything.

Which printings you mark as owned is yours. We do not claim ownership of it.

We need your permission to do the one obvious thing: store that information and show it back to you. By using MasterSet you give us permission to host, store, back up and display your collection data for the purpose of operating the service for you. That permission ends when you delete the data or your account. We do not publish your collection, show it to other users, or use it to advertise to you.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that puts the service or other people at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.

You can close your account yourself at any time, which deletes your collection along with it.

MasterSet is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or that the card data will be accurate or complete. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Keep your own record of anything you cannot afford to lose. Marks made without an account live in your browser and disappear if you clear your browser data.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Caleb Bertumen is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or the cost of substitute services, arising out of your use of MasterSet.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty five US dollars. Since the service is free, that will usually be the latter.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

If your use of MasterSet, or your breach of these terms, leads to a claim against us by someone else, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result from it. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you take part in defending it.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page always shows when they last changed.

For significant changes we will give notice before they take effect: by a notice in the app, and by email to signed-in users where the change materially affects them. Continuing to use MasterSet after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute about them will be brought in the state or federal courts located there, and both of us agree to those courts hearing it.

If you are a consumer, none of this takes away rights you have under the law of the place you live, including the right to bring a claim in your local courts where that law gives you one.
